If you just want to attend a single day, please put a comment in the ClarionShop comment field.  We will adjust the price before processing.

The address is 26 Hoddle Street, Abbotsford Vic, Australia 3067 - it's the corner of Hoddle street and Greenwood street.

The event cost does not include accomodation. Ken has recommended the following for accomodation, which is about 50m away. The outside of the building is a bit run-down but he's inspected the rooms and has declared them "clean and comfy".

Please note that space in the Sydney venue is limited, so those folk equally comfortable with travel to Melbourne should please plan to come here to assist with over-crowding there.

Schedule  ** A provisional daily agenda is available here **

Registration and Welcome opens at 7:30 am on Thursday August 19. Lectures and practical work will run until 5pm, with perhaps the occasional break for good behaviour. Additional optional workshop time will happen from 5pm to 7pm.

Friday will start with optional workshop time from 7am to 8:30am. Then lectures and practical work will resume until 4pm.

Day 1 will be aimed at beginners, and those with some familiarity with web apps. The first session on day 1 (8am to 10am) will be a rapid recap of the fundaments of web applications. However those with no previous web-app experience will be encouraged to review some material before the event. The rest of the day will be aimed at leveraging the NetTalk templates to build a web application.

Day 2 will contain more advanced material, and will be aimed mostly at those who have already built one or more web applications.  A more detailed look at the underlying app structure, styling apps using custom CSS, and writing, or integrating, additional JavaScript are just some of the topics that will be covered. Day 2 will contain value to all but the most junior of developers.

We encourage attendees to bring laptops (or desktop computers) as the opportunutiy will exist for you to do practical work, on your own applications. Naturally in an event of this nature some of the material will be either well known, or too advanced for your current skill set. During these times we encourage additional workshopping.

Kevin, I asked Ken and he replies;

"Yes, but it is limited to about 10 cars you can park in the street next to the building all day but need to be early. I will check out other parking for you"

There is a All Day parking about 300 m away in ALDI Car Parkin Victoria Street, cost is $20 per day.

Hi

I seem to ahve posted in the wrong place - my  apologies. I am very interested in the topics you are going to cover, but have no experience with NetTalk. I presume one needs to purchase and become familiar with this prior to the course. (I have some experience with Java, setting up a web server or two in the past).

Is there a discount on the purchase of NetTalk if attending the course, and if so, will there be a bundled course fee?

Regards,

Phil Cumpston
